(The CEN News / Reporter Kim Seon‑a) The 4·16 Foundation will host a life‑safety webinar on the climate crisis and disasters. On March 17, the 4·16 Foundation announced it will hold the fourth 4·16 Life‑Safety Webinar, titled The Climate Crisis and Disasters: Asking About Everyone's Safety, on March 24.

The webinar is designed to examine climate‑driven disasters from the perspective of social tragedy and to explore inequalities that emerge during disasters as well as community response strategies.

The 4·16 Foundation is hosting the event with support from the Community Chest of Korea. It is the fourth session in a five‑part seminar series that considers the direction of public safety a decade after the Sewol ferry disaster.

Panelists will focus on recent major domestic disasters, including heatwaves, the flooding of the Osong underpass, and wildfires in North Gyeongsang Province.

Speakers will present on disasters and human rights in the climate era, local community response strategies, and the role of civil society. Their presentations will be followed by an expert panel discussion and a participant Q&A.

The event will be held on March 24 at 2 p.m. at the Mirae Hope Hall of the 4·16 Life‑Safety Education Center in Danwon‑gu, Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, and it will be streamed live on the foundation's official YouTube channel.

Members of the public who wish to attend in person or online can register in advance through March 23. Registrants will receive a connection link and a materials packet; the foundation will also make the materials available for download on its website after the event.
