(The CEN News / Reporter Nam Sa-woong) President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit China from May 14 to 15, and Russian President Vladimir Putin may also travel to China later that month.

The South China Morning Post (SCMP), citing multiple sources, reported that Putin’s visit would likely follow Trump’s. Trump had originally planned the trip for the end of March but postponed it to mid‑May amid concerns that the conflict in the Middle East could persist.

If both trips take place, it would mean that the leaders of the United States and Russia visit China in the same month. Analysts note this would be the first time China hosts both leaders in a single month outside of a multilateral summit; previous visits by the two leaders generally coincided with major international conferences.

Observers say the timing signals more than a routine diplomatic engagement. It reflects Beijing’s strategic intent to deepen communication with major powers at a moment of growing international instability. Zhu Feng, director of the Institute of International Relations at Nanjing University, told the SCMP, "This schedule underscores the importance of further dialogue among China, the United States and Russia and their shared responsibility for international peace and security."

Officials have not yet finalized the exact travel dates or the agendas to be discussed.
