Fans clutched lightsticks in one hand and umbrellas in the other as they waited.
Posing in front of the giant poster outside the venue was a must.
ARMY from around the globe gathered in Goyang for the concert that launched BTS’s world tour, marking the group’s return after a 3-year, 9-month hiatus.
Excitement ran high at the prospect of finally seeing the full lineup on stage after the comeback show in Gwanghwamun Square last month.
“Tani Madhab, Bangladesh: ‘Hearing the soundcheck got us so hyped. Everyone, inside and out, screamed together.’”
“Linta, Taiwan: ‘I’m so excited and really happy. We finally get to see the members!’”
Despite the rainy, gray weather, ARMY who arrived early in the afternoon found strength simply from being there with BTS.
“Ipek Neriman, Turkey: ‘Thank you for being such a special artist to us. We’re grateful for your existence, for your hard work, and for how much you love your fans.’”
“Yang Min-seon, Bucheon, Gyeonggi: ‘The members helped me a lot when I was struggling. I hope ARMY can support each other when times are tough.’”
For the first time in seven years since the COVID-19 pandemic, BTS is meeting ARMYs around the world in person.
The Arirang world tour—the largest K-pop tour to date—began in Goyang and will span 34 cities across Asia, North America, Europe and South America, for a total of 85 shows.
