In South Korea, Hyundai's small-sedan lineage ended with the discontinuation of the Accent, but the model continues to sell strongly overseas.

Hyundai has revealed a mid-cycle update for the Verna, drawing attention back home.

This release is a product-enhancement model based on the current generation introduced in 2023. It retains the platform and powertrain while sharpening the exterior design and upgrading convenience and safety equipment to boost competitiveness.

Hyundai says the update aims to keep the Verna competitive in India's mid-size sedan segment.

The most significant change in the refresh is at the front end.

The existing grille design remains, but the bumper and surrounding elements have been refined to give the car a broader, more planted stance. The LED headlamps and lighting layout have also been revised.

The side silhouette is carried over, but Hyundai fitted 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and chrome trim for a more polished appearance. At the rear, updated taillamp graphics and a reworked bumper sharpen the details.

Safety specs have been strengthened. Advanced driver-assistance systems such as lane-keeping assist and forward-collision mitigation are included, and the car offers multiple airbags and a 360-degree camera.

The powertrain lineup is unchanged. The Verna continues with two 1.5-liter gasoline options—a naturally aspirated unit and a 1.5-liter turbocharged unit—and the turbo model produces roughly 160 horsepower.

The Verna's local starting price is 1.09 million rupees (approximately $12,750), about 17 million KRW (approximately $12,750).
