Recently, cooking competition shows have exploded in popularity, and that renewed attention has put a spotlight on hotel restaurants featured in the Michelin Guide.

The newly released Michelin Guide Seoul & Busan 2026 includes six hotel-operated restaurants.

Specifically, the guide features 'La Yeon' at The Shilla Seoul, 'Yuyan' at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, 'La Mang Secre' at The L'Escape Hotel, 'Itanic Garden' at Chosun Palace, 'Sushi Kanesaka' at InterContinental Seoul Parnas, and 'Collage' at Ananti at Gangnam. Among them, 'La Yeon' earned two stars. 'La Yeon' opened in 2013 as a fine-dining Korean restaurant.

La Yeon held three Michelin stars for seven consecutive years from 2016 through 2022, and it has carried two stars from 2023 through this year.

Signature dishes include sinseollo — a 1++ Hanwoo brisket broth served with vegetables and meat — gujeolpan, wheat pancakes aged in buckwheat tea paired with seasonal ingredients, and 45-day dry-aged Hanwoo beef.

Yuyan, the Cantonese restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, earned one star each year from 2017 through 2021. It returned to one star last year and retained that rating in this year's guide.

Itanic Garden at Chosun Palace and La Mang Secre at The L'Escape both kept their one-star ratings. Both kitchens are led by Chef Son Jong-won, who rose to fame on the Netflix cooking-competition series "Black & White Chefs 2."

Sushi Kanesaka, the sushi omakase restaurant at InterContinental Seoul Parnas, earned its first Michelin star this year. The hotel opened Sushi Kanesaka in November 2024 through a strategic partnership with Japan's two-Michelin-star Kanesaka Group, and the restaurant secured a star 15 months later.

Collage at Ananti at Gangnam also received its first Michelin star this year.
