Singer Jeong Dong-won has completed basic Marine Corps training and returned looking noticeably tougher. KFN (Defense TV) streamed the Class 1327 recruit graduation live on April 2 on its YouTube channel, where viewers received an update on Jeong.

Born in 2007, Jeong drew attention after volunteering for the Marines earlier this year. Since enlisting on Feb. 23, he has undergone rigorous training. Spotted on the parade ground framed by blooming cherry blossoms, he no longer resembled the delicate "pretty boy" image from before; his sun-darkened skin and steady bearing reflected the toll and discipline of training as he rendered a crisp salute.

Jeong had repeatedly voiced his determination to join the Marines on broadcasts and his personal channel. Fans praised him for pursuing his goal and fulfilling his military obligation, posting comments like, "He’s grown up so fast — joining the Marines makes us proud," and "The sun-darkened look really suits him."

At the ceremony, officials also highlighted other meaningful stories, including a recruit who represents the fourth generation in a Marine family. The 1,319 recruits of Class 1327, having completed basic and Marine-specialized training, will now be assigned to units and begin their active service.
