[MyDaily = Reporter Seo Gi-chan] South Korea’s top model Jang Yoon-ju is making headlines after candidly sharing the “lingerie horror stories” she’s faced because of her unusual body shape.
On the 2nd, the YouTube channel 'Yoonjour Jang Yoon-ju' uploaded a video titled "Jang Yoon-ju's Underwear Chronicle."
Known for her love of lingerie, Jang admitted on the show, "I'm as obsessed with underwear as I am with body products." Ironically, it was the limits of domestic sizing that drove her obsession.
She criticized the lack of variety in the local lingerie market, saying, "There should be more options by bust size — it was hard for me to buy bras here."
Because her slim frame contrasts so sharply with her volume, off-the-rack pieces rarely fit. The evolution of her sizes surprised listeners: "In my twenties my torso was a complete XXS, but my cup was a B, so there was nothing that fit," she recalled.
She then set the room buzzing with honesty: "In my thirties I was a C cup, and now — including some sagging — I'm around a D to G." When the crew suggested she might have been larger, she laughed it off: "I'm so thin overall, so my chest probably looked bigger."
Her perfectionism as a model also influenced her lingerie choices. "Working as a model made me hate visible bra lines," she said. "On overseas trips I'd spend whole days trying on everything in lingerie stores to find the perfect fit and buy whatever worked."
Her daring past choices also grabbed attention. Unable to stand the discomfort, she admitted, "In my twenties and thirties I hated wearing bras. I'd use adhesive patches or cross bandages in an X, sometimes go braless, or wear mesh."
But she's since shifted her priorities for health reasons: "I can't wear wires that are too tight — they upset my digestion and hurt — so comfort is my top priority now."
