Namyangju City said on May 4 that it will present a special concert, 'Gwan·Se(洗)·Pae,' featuring pianist Bae Gil at the Lee Seok-young New Media Library on May 9.
'Gwan·Se·Pae' is a monthly cultural series whose title conveys "an unexpected musical gift at the library" and the idea of cleansing the mind. The program was created to offer residents moments of calm and emotional refreshment in their daily lives.
The performance is Bae Gil's first domestic recital and has attracted particular attention. The program will include selections from Bach's Goldberg Variations, Chopin nocturnes, and works by Schubert and Schumann, spanning the classical and Romantic repertoires.
Bae is a graduate of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. He won the Steinway Competition and was named a Bösendorfer Artist, honors that have earned him international recognition. He regularly appears with leading conductors and musicians and maintains an active career based in Europe.
Jo Seong-ho, director of the Jeong Yak-yong Library, said, "With Family Month upon us, I hope residents find relaxation and healing through classical music. We look forward to their enjoying this special experience as the library transforms into a concert venue."
Admission is free. Reservations and detailed schedule information are available on the library's website or by phone.
