By Kim Won-gyeom, SPOTV News — PSY will reaffirm his status as one of K-pop’s original icons in a CNN International documentary series that explores the genre’s global appeal.

PSY appears in K-Everything, a new four-part series CNN International begins airing on the 9th (Korea time).

Hosted by actor-producer Daniel Dae Kim, K-Everything traces the global reach and cultural roots of contemporary Korean trends. The series examines K-pop alongside television dramas, food, beauty and other cultural exports that have found international audiences.

PSY sits down with Daniel Dae Kim to discuss K-pop’s rising popularity, the phenomenon of international superfans and how those forces shape the industry.

On the 6th, CNN posted an opening teaser on its official social channels that features PSY.

The clip pairs footage that captures the energy of PSY’s soaked-concert series with a candid exchange. When Daniel Dae Kim asks, "How long did you enjoy the success of 'Gangnam Style'?" PSY replies, "As a performer, it lasts forever. But as a songwriter, dreams and nightmares coexist. I keep asking myself, 'How can I make something better than this song?'"

The episode featuring PSY premieres on CNN International at 9 p.m. on the 9th. The four-part series will stream live each week for CNN International pay-TV subscribers on CNN.com and via the CNN Connected TV and mobile apps.
