[EPN NPNow reporter Gonari] Daesung shared behind-the-scenes stories from his Coachella performance.

On May 1, on his YouTube channel "Jip Daesung," he offered candid recollections of performing at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California.

Daesung said that on the 20th he took the stage with all members of Big Bang and also drew attention by performing trot songs "Hando Choga" ("Exceeding the Limit") and "Nal Bwa Gwisun" ("Look at Me, I Surrender"). He chose trot because he wanted to present a show only he could deliver.

He added that, while some praised his Coachella appearance as a boost to Korea's image abroad, he had no grand intention of doing so.

The large LED board that displayed a greeting in Hangul also caught audience attention, but Daesung laughed that it wasn't intended to convey any lofty message. He said the idea came up during rehearsal when G-Dragon suggested, "Why don't we put 'My name is Daesung' up?" They ultimately decided to show the phrase in Korean 그대로 — leaving the text in Hangul.

The production team also surprised him with a birthday cake featuring a stage photo, which lightened the mood. Daesung thanked them and noted that his mother even uses that photo as her phone background.

About the closing number, "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter (Still Life)," he said many viewers commented on hearing T.O.P.'s voice and that he himself was moved on stage. When the production team pointed out that many people said they cried, Daesung quipped, "Me too."

He also relayed advice he received from the group Epik High. He had worried the venue might be uncomfortable, but was relieved to find it well equipped with amenities and a pleasant atmosphere.

Through the "Jip Daesung" channel, viewers got a behind-the-scenes look at Coachella and a candid, human portrait of Daesung.
