LG defeated Doosan 4-1 on April 24 at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul during the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League matchup.
The win moved LG to 15-7, keeping them in second place. They sit a half-game behind first-place kt Wiz (16-7).
Doosan, now on a two-game losing streak, sits at 9-1-13 (W-T-L).
Mun Bo-gyeong paced LG’s offense with three hits and three RBIs. Starter Im Chan-gyu earned his first win of the season, tossing 5 2/3 innings while allowing six hits, striking out two, walking three and yielding one run.
Doosan starter Choi Seung-yong worked 5 1/3 innings, gave up five hits, struck out four, walked two and allowed two runs, but a quiet offense cost him the decision.
LG struck first in the top of the third. After one out, Shin Min-jae drew a walk and Hong Chang-gi followed with a single to put runners at first and third. Cheon Seong-ho delivered an RBI single to make it 1-0.
With the momentum building, LG added another run in the same inning. With two outs and runners at first and third, Mun Bo-gyeong knocked in an RBI single to push the lead to 2-0. Im Chan-gyu kept the Twins in front with steady work on the mound.
Doosan battled back. In the bottom of the fifth, consecutive hits by Jung Soo-bin and Park Chan-ho set up a no-out, runners-at-the-corners chance, and Son Ah-seop cut the deficit to one with a sacrifice fly. In the sixth, with two outs, Yang Seok-hwan’s single and a hit-by-pitch to Lee Yu-chan created runners at first and second.
LG moved to the bullpen after Im Chan-gyu, and reliever Jang Hyun-sik struck out pinch-hitter Kim In-tae to escape the jam.
Jang Hyun-sik and Woo Kang-hoon combined for scoreless relief work to protect the one-run lead. In the top of the ninth, LG loaded the bases on walks and Mun Bo-gyeong delivered a two-run RBI single to effectively put the game away.
LG closed out the game by shutting down Doosan in the bottom of the ninth, sealing a 4-1 victory.
