Austria Wien secured a 2-0 away win against Ried im Innkreis in the 22nd round of the 2025-2026 Austrian Bundesliga on March 9th (KST).
After a draw and a loss in their previous two outings, Wien bounced back with a crucial victory. This win solidified their fourth-place finish in the regular season with 36 points (11W-3D-8L).
Wien will now advance to the championship round, where the top six teams compete for the title. They trail regular season leaders Sturm Graz (38 points, 12W-2D-8L) by just two points, setting the stage for an intense title race.
The deadlock was broken in the 56th minute when Abovkar Bari put Wien ahead.
Lee Tae-seok played a pivotal role in sealing the win with an assist on the second goal. In the 73rd minute, he took a short corner, received the return pass, and whipped in a left-footed cross. Dragović met the delivery with a well-placed header, finding the back of the net.
This marks Lee's third assist of the Austrian league campaign, complementing his two goals.
The 21-year-old center-back, son of Korean soccer legend Lee Eul-yong, is making waves in European soccer. After debuting with FC Seoul in 2021 and a stint with Pohang Steelers, Lee made the move to Austria Wien last August.
Lee wasted no time making an impact in Europe, scoring his debut goal for Wien in the Vienna derby against Rapid Wien on September 29th. He followed that up with a free-kick goal against Wolfsberger on December 7th.
According to soccer analytics site FootMob, Lee put in a solid 90-minute shift. His stats included 62 touches, a 54% pass completion rate (15/28), 2 tackles, 6 clearances, 2 headed clearances, and success rates of 44% in ground duels (4/9) and 50% in aerial duels (2/4).
FootMob awarded Lee a rating of 7.6, the fifth-highest on the team.
In other news, Lee Kang-hee, Lee Tae-seok's compatriot at Wien, also played the full 90 minutes and contributed to the team's victory.
