[EPN EnpiNow reporter Yoon Dong-geun] KT Wiz tightened their grip atop the standings with a dramatic extra-inning victory.
On April 29, 2026, at Suwon in a Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League matchup, KT edged the LG Twins 5-4.
The win pushed KT to 19-8 and secured a series victory, cementing their hold on first place. LG fell to 16-10 after suffering their third straight loss, slowing their chase for the top spot.
The contest was tight from the outset. In the bottom of the fourth, KT took advantage of an error by Oh Ji-hwan to score first. LG responded in the top of the fifth when Cheon Seong-ho’s single gave them a 2-1 lead, and Park Hae-min stretched the advantage with a sacrifice fly in the sixth.
In the bottom of the seventh, pinch-hitter Yoo Jun-gyu delivered a two-run double to tie the game at 3-3.
The game went to the 10th inning, where Austin briefly put LG back in front with an RBI hit to make it 4-3. In the bottom of the 10th, after KT drew three walks to load the bases with one out, Jang Sung-woo drilled a two-run, walk-off double off Kim Young-woo to seal the win.
The walk-off extra-inning finish once again electrified the home crowd in Suwon.
