Korean Air defeated Hyundai Capital 3-2 (25-23, 25-18, 24-26, 18-25, 18-16) in Game 2 of the Jin Air 2025–2026 V-League men’s finals at Incheon Gyeyang Gymnasium on the 4th.
With that second straight five-set triumph, Korean Air is up 2-0 in the series and needs one more win to seal the title.
Hyundai Capital showed fight in both games but fell short twice and now finds itself on the brink of elimination.
Im Dong-hyeok and Jung Ji-seok led Korean Air with 19 points each. Masso added 14 and Jung Han-yong chipped in 13 to help secure the win.
Hyundai Capital’s Leo poured in 34 points in a heroic effort, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
Korean Air’s focus shone in the first set. With Jung and Im spearheading the attack and support from Masso, Jung Han-yong and Kim Gyu-min, Korean Air pressured Hyundai Capital, which countered with Leo’s open hits and Kim Jin-young’s quick sets.
The set stayed tight until late. Tied 21-21, Korean Air created separation after a service error by Kim Jin-young and an open attack by Im Dong-hyeok. When Leo’s back attack sailed long, Korean Air reached set point and closed it out on a quick from Masso.
Korean Air carried that momentum into the second set. After trailing 1-3, Jung’s quick open sparked a five-point run that put Korean Air ahead. Im, Jung and Jung Han-yong pushed the lead further, forcing Hyundai Capital into tough shots.
Hyundai Capital rallied behind Leo, but Korean Air seized control at 19-17 when Masso’s quick and Jung Han-yong’s block produced consecutive points. Korean Air then closed the set by scoring three straight from 22-18 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Hyundai Capital answered in the third. After falling into a 2-7 hole amid several errors, Choi Min-ho’s quick attacks began to land and Hyundai Capital chipped away while Korean Air started committing mistakes.
Hyundai Capital eventually evened the set and pushed it to deuce. At 24-24, Jung Ji-seok’s serve hit the net, and Lee Seung-jun finished the set with an open attack to make it 2-1 in sets.
Hyundai Capital carried that momentum into the fourth. Leo and Lee Seung-jun’s firepower came early, with support from Heo Su-bong and Choi Min-ho. Korean Air struggled to get past Leo’s block and committed more errors, allowing Hyundai Capital to take the set 25-18 and force a fifth.
In the decisive fifth set, Korean Air ultimately prevailed. At 8-8, Hyundai Capital briefly took the lead on a quick from Choi Min-ho and a block by Leo, but Korean Air countered with a Masso quick and a block by Im Jae-young.
The teams traded points into deuce, and at 16-16 Korean Air closed it out when Jung Han-yong’s quick was followed by Jung Ji-seok’s quick, sealing the victory.
