Lee delivered the decisive goal in Ulsan’s 2-1 win over Bucheon at Bucheon Sports Complex on the 15th. He calmly converted a penalty 25 minutes into the second half — a spot-kick he earned himself — completing the comeback. Lee’s tireless work between midfield and attack and his composed finish in the big moment were central to Ulsan’s victory.
The match between Bucheon and Ulsan was also selected as the K League 1 Round 3 Best Match. Bucheon struck first through Kim Min-jun in the ninth minute, but Ulsan responded when Yago equalized in the 39th minute of the first half. Lee’s penalty early in the second half sealed the win.
The result gave Ulsan a second straight victory and momentum heading into the next round, and the club was voted K League 1 Round 3 Best Team.
In K League 2, Busan’s Gabriel took home the Round 3 MVP award.
Gabriel set up a goal in Busan’s 3-2 comeback win over Seoul E-Land at Mokdong Sports Complex on the 14th. Trailing 1-2, Busan found an equalizer when Gabriel delivered a precise through ball to Kim Chan in the 32nd minute of the second half. Gabriel continued to drive the attack with aggressive runs and incisive play down the right flank.
The Seoul E-Land vs. Busan fixture was also named the K League 2 Round 3 Best Match. Seoul E-Land took the lead in first-half stoppage time when Park Jae-yong nodded in a header, but Busan replied in the second half. Kim Min-hyeok leveled with a header in the 16th minute, and though Seoul E-Land’s Aideal restored the lead in the 22nd minute, Kim Chan drew Busan level in the 32nd. Baek Ga-on then delivered a dramatic winner just before full time as Busan overturned the score to win 3-2.
The victory also earned Busan the K League 2 Round 3 Best Team honor.
The K League Round Best XI and MVP are decided by the Technical Research Group (TSG) under the K League Technical Committee through both quantitative and qualitative evaluation. TSG members assigned to each round select the Best XI and the Man of the Match (MOM) for each game. The group then convenes for a match-evaluation meeting and finalizes the K League 1 and K League 2 Best XI by combining TSG members’ ratings and comments with the ratings provided by the league’s official data partner, Bipro. The round MVP is chosen from the MOM candidates using the same process applied to the Best XI.
