The Hanwha Eagles defeated the LG Twins 8-4 on April 23 at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul, taking the third game of the 2026 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League series between the clubs.

Hanwha arrived at Jamsil riding momentum after snapping a losing streak against the Lotte Giants last weekend. Still, they had dropped the first two games of this series and faced a potential sweep. Manager Kim Kyung-moon said the club had often taken three losses to the same opponent, so getting one win would ease some pressure — he was determined to avoid being swept.

The Twins struck first. In the bottom of the first, Park Hae-min opened with an infield single and, after a throwing error by Hanwha second baseman Hwang Young-muk, Austin Dean followed with an infield hit to plate the game’s first run. In the bottom of the third, Moon Bo-kyung added another RBI off Hanwha reliever Kim Seo-hyun after Park Hae-min’s steal had put runners at first and second.

Hanwha answered in the top of the fourth. Yonathan Peraza launched a solo shot off LG starter Lee Jung-yong to cut the deficit, and Noh Si-hwan — making his first appearance back on the roster after a 10-day absence — tied the game with a solo homer off reliever Ham Deok-ju. With one out and the bases loaded, Heo In-seo exchanged an out for a run to put Hanwha ahead 3-2.

Hanwha continued to build the lead. Moon Hyun-bin extended the margin with a solo homer in the top of the fifth, and in the sixth Hwang Young-muk drove in two runs with runners on second and third to push the score to 6-2. LG chipped away with a run in the bottom of the sixth but couldn’t rally. Hanwha added two insurance runs in the top of the ninth — including an RBI from Kang Baek-ho and an LG error — and closed out the game to end their skid.

The Eagles relied on a bullpen approach to secure the win. Hwang Jun-seo opened and worked 2 2/3 innings allowing two runs, followed by Kim Seo-hyun (1/3 inning), Jo Dong-wook (1/3), Park Sang-won (2/3), Jung Woo-joo (1 inning, 1 run), Lee Min-woo (1 2/3 innings), Kim Jong-su (1/3) and Jack Cushing (2 innings, 1 run) to finish the game and hold the lead.

At the plate, Noh Si-hwan went 2-for-4 with a homer, one RBI, one run and a walk. Yonathan Peraza and Moon Hyun-bin each also homered. Leadoff man Hwang Young-muk had one hit and scored twice, while Lee Won-seok reached base four times with three hits and a walk.

After the game, Manager Kim Kyung-moon praised his players: “Everyone played well. Both pitchers and hitters did their jobs, and that allowed us to win the final game of the three-game set. Our cleanup hitter, Noh Si-hwan, homered in his first game back and brought good energy to the team,” he said, commending the squad for a complete effort.
