An electrical worker in his 50s in Busan’s Haeundae District was electrocuted and sustained burn injuries.
On March 13, the Haeundae Police Station in Busan said dispatchers received a 119 call at about 1:09 p.m. reporting that A (in his 50s), who was performing paint and waterproofing work on the roof of a four-story building in Centum City, had been electrocuted.
Police said A was working alone when his body came into contact with a transformer; he was reportedly working near a substation at the time.
He sustained burns but his condition is not life-threatening.
A police official said investigators believe the electrocution occurred because work was carried out without cutting the power. Authorities are probing the exact circumstances to determine whether proper safety protocols were followed.
