Police say A threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, identified as B, a woman in her 30s, and her parents at about 2:30 p.m. the previous day.

He traveled to Hoengseong in Gangwon Province, where B was staying, repeatedly tried to contact her and continued stalking her. Police say he later called officers and said, "If you don't let me see my girlfriend, I'll kill her and her family."

Hoengseong police issued emergency measures, including a restraining order, and requested cooperation from Icheon police, where A lives. After staking out the area around A’s home, officers arrested him at about 4:30 p.m. that same day.

Investigators determined A had previously committed similar acts, including going to B and her parents' home.

A police official said investigators are probing allegations that A also assaulted B in the past and that, given the seriousness of the case, they plan to apply for an arrest warrant.
