
A man in his 60s who allegedly chased women through a busy shopping district and performed lewd acts was arrested after citizens assisted police.
The Suwon Paldal Police in Gyeonggi Province said on the 16th that they booked a man identified as A on suspicion of public indecency and are investigating.
Police say A allegedly chased random women along Rodeo Street near Suwon Station at about 1 p.m. on the 13th and committed lewd acts in public.
A woman nearby, identified as B, happened to witness the behavior and immediately called 112 (South Korea’s emergency number).
Fearing he might flee, she followed him for a while and relayed his movements and a physical description to police in real time.
Using the information B provided, police located A after he entered a commercial building and took him in for questioning.
The suspect reportedly admitted to the allegations during questioning.
Police are conducting a detailed investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
