[Herald Economy = Park Seong-jun] The Korea Fire Insurance Association said on the 20th that it held a Labor-Management Coexistence Declaration ceremony to mark the labor union’s 50th anniversary.Over the past half-century, labor and management have collaborated to protect employees’ rights while supporting the association’s steady development. The ceremony was organized to coordinate a joint response to a rapidly changing business environment.
At the event, Chairman Kang Young-gu and Union Chair Lee Sang-mun jointly signed the Labor-Management Coexistence Declaration. They adopted four core commitments: ▷balancing protection of employee rights with sustainable development ▷improving fair and reasonable systems and practices ▷mutual respect for management’s authority and the union’s role as employee representative ▷establishing a fair, transparent organizational culture and strengthening communication.
Chairman Kang said, “The past 50 years have been far from short. Our union has both driven the association’s growth and dedicated itself to protecting employee rights and improving working conditions. While differences in perspective have sometimes created difficulties, those challenges were part of building a stronger community.” He added, “Given the unprecedented pressures on the business environment, including recent developments in the Middle East, we will practice value-driven management that safeguards both customer and employee value. Guided by a spirit of mutual support, we will build a ‘happy workplace and a strong association.’”
Union Chair Lee said, “On the basis of the past 50 years’ achievements, it is meaningful to declare labor-management coexistence at this turning point toward a new century. We will use this declaration to deepen dialogue and cooperation, build a labor-management relationship grounded in consensus, and grow together as genuine partners.”
The association, a specialist in risk management for the disaster and insurance sectors, said it will use the proclamation to strengthen a labor-management cooperation culture based on mutual trust and to pursue sustainable development together.
