Michuhol District in Incheon said on March 30 that it has allocated ₩1,005,000,000 (about $753,750) in education subsidies to support schools in the district, aiming to develop future talent and strengthen the competitiveness of public education.

The district provided an initial ₩20,000,000 (about $15,000) in January to a school that opened its facilities, and on March 26 convened the second education-subsidy review committee to finalize individual schools’ projects and funding allocations.
This second round allocates roughly ₩815,000,000 (about $611,250). Key initiatives include tailored program support, priority educational-welfare funding, improvements to the learning environment, and incentives for Michuhol Open Schools.
Schools will use the awarded funds to upgrade learning environments, run targeted programs, and address gaps in educational access.
In April, the district plans a third review to consider additional support for locally gifted students and funding to operate full-day programs at private kindergartens.
A district official said the district will actively invest in program development and facility improvements to boost the competitiveness of public education and secure a brighter future for local children.
