Gachon University has partnered with the Seonhwa Foundation, the school corporation that operates specialized high schools in the Busan region, to train practice-ready professionals in emerging technology fields.
On the afternoon of the 9th, Gachon signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Seonhwa Foundation in the conference room at Gachon Hall. Gachon Vice President Yun Won-jung and Seonhwa Chair Nam Yu-ri, along with officials from both institutions, attended the signing ceremony.
The agreement is designed to strengthen educational linkages between the university and specialized high schools and to systematically develop talent that combines theoretical knowledge with applied skills. Its goal is to establish an education-collaboration framework aligned with industry needs and to expand the pathway from continued education to employment.
Under the MOU, the two institutions will collaborate to broaden and deepen academic programs. They will explore coordinating early-employment contract-degree programs, jointly develop industry-tailored curricula by sharing leading corporate infrastructure, and identify follow-up initiatives to support mutual advancement.
The Seonhwa Foundation runs secondary and specialized high schools based in the Busan area. Through schools such as Busan Computer Science High School, it has focused on cultivating IT-centered, practice-oriented talent. Gachon expects the MOU to strengthen an education-linkage model connecting specialized high schools, universities and industry.
Vice President Yun said, “This agreement will provide a systematic pathway to cultivate the hands-on professionals that industry demands by linking specialized high schools and universities. We will continue to reinforce joint development of practice-centered curricula and deepen industry-academia collaboration to actively nurture talent in emerging technology fields.”
