Ilsan High School in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, is moving beyond traditional technical instruction to become an interdisciplinary hub for future-ready talent. Founded in 1956 and carrying nearly 70 years of history, the school has reorganized its programs to reflect current industry demands, introducing practical, workplace-focused majors such as IoT Design, bio-cosmetics, and Smart Space Design to drive innovation in education.
The transformation is evident in the school's facilities. Renovated under the Green Smart Future School initiative, the hands-on labs now mirror advanced industry settings rather than conventional classrooms. Those upgrades have increased student engagement and laid the foundation for professional competence across fields like beauty, culinary arts, and baking and pastry.
Gyeonggi Superintendent Lim Tae-hee visited the campus and met with students to emphasize the importance of foundational skills for emerging industries. He encouraged students to pursue their ambitions and pledged support for streamlined educational administration through the digital platform G-ONE.
Lim also met with teachers on site to discuss concrete collaborative measures for nurturing future talent. The education office said it will continue policy support to help Ilsan High become a model school that partners with the local community and fosters both learning and growth.
