About 15 people attended the signing ceremony, including Kim Dong-woo, vice chairman of Hope Sharing People; Hwang In-hong, Muju County governor; and scholarship recipients.
Under the agreement, Hope Sharing People will provide 15 vulnerable children recommended by Muju County with 50,000 KRW per month for two years (a total of 18,000,000 KRW, about US$13,500). They also donated educational laptops to three children from vulnerable households.
In addition, Hope Sharing People agreed to supply Muju County with daily necessities valued at 200,000,000 KRW (about US$150,000) over two years. The timing, specific items, and quantities of those distributions will be determined later.
Kim Dong-woo, vice chairman of Hope Sharing People, said, "I hope today’s event becomes a stepping stone for students to discover new dreams and take off toward the future."
Hwang In-hong, Muju County governor, expressed his gratitude: "I sincerely thank Hope Sharing People and its sponsors for their strong interest and support for children and adolescents in need. We will do our best to ensure these children can freely pursue their dreams and grow up healthy and bright."
