[Sports Today Reporter Lim Si-ryeong] Cha Eun-woo, the ASTRO member and actor who faced allegations of tax evasion totaling 20 billion KRW (approximately 15 million USD), announced that he has paid the assessed taxes.

On the 8th, Cha posted on his social media: \"I respect the National Tax Service's procedures and findings, and I have paid the related taxes in full to prevent further confusion. I will fully cooperate with the remaining procedures.\"

He added: \"I have worked with the love and support of many people, so I take this matter very seriously and with deep concern. If I failed to properly oversee anything, I accept full responsibility. I will not evade responsibility by saying I 'didn't know' or that it was 'someone else's decision' for any reason.\"

Cha bowed once again, writing: \"I established a corporation while preparing to stabilize my activities during a period of change and confusion. Looking back, I recognize there were areas I did not sufficiently review, and I believe the responsibility lies with me, not with my family or my company.\"

He emphasized: \"To prevent the same problem from happening again, I will subject all aspects of my future activities to more careful and stricter standards.\"

Last year, the Seoul Regional Tax Office’s Investigation Division 4 conducted a high-intensity probe into Cha on tax-evasion allegations. The National Tax Service determined that Cha and his mother used a single-person agency corporation to evade income tax and notified them of a recovery amount in the 20 billion KRW range (approximately 15 million USD).

This is Cha Eun-woo.

I sincerely apologize for disappointing and confusing my fans and many others over the recent tax controversy involving me.

I had to be cautious about issuing a statement while various administrative procedures were underway, and I apologize again for the delay in speaking out.

Though belated, I want to directly share my thoughts and position now.

I respect the National Tax Service's procedures and findings, and I have paid the related taxes in full to prevent further confusion. I will faithfully comply with the remaining procedures.

Given the love and support I have received from so many people, I take this matter even more seriously and deeply.

If there were areas I did not sufficiently review, I accept full responsibility. I will not evade responsibility by saying I 'didn't know' or that it was 'someone else's decision.'

I established a corporation during a period of change and confusion to help stabilize my activities, but looking back, I see there were aspects I did not fully examine. I believe the responsibility lies with me, not with my family or my company.

This situation has forced me to reflect deeply. Above all, it pains me deeply to have let down the fans and AROHA who trusted me, and I am truly sorry.

To prevent the same issue from recurring, I will review my future activities under stricter and more careful standards.

I will work harder and continue to take full responsibility for my choices and actions. I offer my deepest apologies once again.
