On the 26th, MBC's Real-Life Investigation will spotlight Kim So-young's alleged serial killings, in which she reportedly laced hangover remedies with drugs to target men.
In February, Kim gave a man she had gone to a motel with a hangover remedy tainted with drugs, killing him and leaving the scene alone. Investigators say this was not an isolated incident: she is alleged to have used the same method since December, and authorities have identified six male victims to date.
Kim maintains she had no intent to kill. However, investigators found she had used an artificial intelligence (AI) tool to research the drug's dangers before the incidents, a discovery that has deepened public concern.
The program also details disturbing post-crime behavior. After the attacks, Kim—reported to have been diagnosed as a psychopath—used victims' payment cards to order delivery food and sent messages to fabricate alibis.
The production team traced Kim's past and obtained testimony that she repeatedly stole and harassed people out of jealousy, probing what the true motive for the crimes might have been.
The second segment examines the case of 20-year-old Yoon, who broke into his ex-girlfriend's home at dawn and attacked her with a knife.
Posing as a delivery driver, Yoon rang the doorbell seven times. When the door opened, he slipped inside and violently assaulted his ex-girlfriend and her friends with a weapon. He then fled by taxi and reportedly spoke calmly on the phone during his escape—behavior that has provoked public outrage.
The victim says she endured Yoon's violence and obsession throughout their relationship. Reporting also found that Yoon had a history of abusing women dating back to his school years.
The broadcast will reveal what lay behind his unassuming appearance: the brutal violence he concealed and the early warning signs that foreshadowed the crime.
