[iNews24 Reporter Lee Chang-jae] The Dalseong County Nature Conservation Council (Chair Shin Kyung-yong) held its 2026 annual meeting on the 10th in the main conference room at Dalseong County Hall. About 40 people attended, including council executives and leaders from local towns and townships.

At the meeting, the council reviewed the major projects and the 2025 financial report. Members approved the project plans and budget for the coming year and elected vice chairs and operating directors as part of organizational restructuring.

Last year, the council worked to raise community awareness about environmental issues through a variety of conservation activities.

Notably, it organized waterfront cleanups for World Water Day and ran a campaign to reduce single-use items at a national park golf tournament. The council also used EM (beneficial microorganism) soil balls to help improve water quality in Cheonnae Stream and led eco-plogging campaigns, continuing hands-on, everyday conservation efforts.

Chair Shin Kyung-yong said, “We will strengthen conservation activities that can concretely address the climate crisis through close cooperation among our members. Through diverse campaigns, we will lead efforts to help residents adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.”

Dalseong County Mayor Choi Jae-hoon expressed deep gratitude to the council members for their dedication to environmental conservation, saying he expects their various activities—such as campaigns that encourage living in harmony with nature—to play a significant role in making Dalseong County more beautiful.
