A poll shows President Lee Jae-myung’s approval rating has remained in the 60% range for seven consecutive weeks. Realmeter conducted the survey for the Energy Economy Newspaper over five days beginning on the 20th, polling roughly 2,500 adults nationwide. It found that 62.2% approve of the president’s performance in office, a decline of 3.3 percentage points from last week. Disapproval rose 3.4 percentage points to 33.4%. Realmeter said the decline in support appears linked to rising household financial pressure caused by higher oil and consumer prices following the Middle East war. Meanwhile, in a party-preference survey conducted from the 23rd over two days among about 1,000 adults nationwide, Realmeter reported the Democratic Party at 51.3% and the People Power Party at 30.7%.
