Hyoyeon was caught off guard by plans for Girls' Generation’s 20th anniversary.
On April 12, JTBC’s Please Take Care of My Refrigerator featured a cooking competition centered on Hyoyeon’s refrigerator.
Host Kim Seong-joo pointed out that next year marks Girls' Generation’s 20th anniversary. He noted the group reunited for their 15th and asked whether they have any plans for the upcoming milestone.
Hyoyeon said they should start planning now and named Tiffany as the point person. “She’s meticulous, shows leadership and does a great job keeping the members organized,” Hyoyeon said.
Tiffany, visibly surprised, replied, “We’ve already got a plan — it’s ready.” She then admitted, “To be honest, Hyoyeon doesn’t check our group chat often.”
When Kim joked that Hyoyeon has become an icon of poor communication within Girls' Generation, Tiffany explained that when someone sends a message, they expect a reply within 48 hours to keep things moving — but Hyoyeon frequently doesn’t read the chats.
Hyoyeon conceded, “I don’t like long messages. If there are 200 to 300 messages, I just skim for the main points and I often miss things.”
JTBC’s Please Take Care of My Refrigerator airs Sundays at 9 p.m. KST.
