Lee Jae-young, director at Hyundai Sanggong Motors — Yamaha Korea Co., Ltd. — wins Product of the Year award
Yamaha Korea Co., Ltd. (Hyundai Sanggong Motors), the official importer of Yamaha outboards, personal watercraft and sport boats, said on March 13 that it exhibited at the 19th Korea International Boat Show (KIBS) held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province from March 6 to 8.
The Korea International Boat Show, co-hosted by Gyeonggi Province and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, brings together yachts, boats and marine leisure equipment in a single venue. This year’s show ran alongside the Korea International Fishing Expo and the Camping & Picnic Fair, highlighting a wide range of products and technologies for marine recreation and the outdoor market.
At the event, Yamaha Korea (Hyundai Sanggong Motors) displayed sport boats, personal watercraft and outboards. Its 2026 Sport Boat 255XD took home KIBS’ Product of the Year award in the overseas boats, yachts and PWC category.
The 2026 Sport Boat 255XD produces more than 500 total horsepower and incorporates technologies such as the Wake Booster, DRIVE-X and Cool Touch soft seats. The model is aimed at wake surfing, wakeboarding and other tow-sports and water-recreation activities.
The 2026 WAVERUNNER personal watercraft was also on the show floor. As one of Yamaha Marine’s flagship PWC models, it’s engineered for responsive handling, strong performance and long-term durability.
The outboard lineup included four new models. The F400AST2 and F350BST2 are equipped with DES (Digital Electric Steering), an electrically driven steering assist system that eases helm control. Yamaha also introduced a pearl white finish in addition to the existing gray option.
Yamaha unveiled the F200SET and F250SET models for the first time. Both are powered by 4,169 cc engines and feature lightweight construction and DEC (Digital Electronic Control) systems to support throttle operation.
During the show, Yamaha staffed a booth where visitors could experience the HELM MASTER EX boat control platform firsthand. Attendees tested onboard features such as autopilot and joystick steering.
