Yeongtak & Blues Andong Guardians, the fan club of Andong-born singer Yeongtak, celebrated Family Month by donating gift certificates worth ₩3,000,000 (about $2,250) to the Ok-dong Administrative Welfare Center on May 7.
The group chose gift certificates so neighbors who struggle with shopping or need everyday essentials could pick exactly what they want and need.
In the first half of last year, the fan club provided household supplies to residents who lost their homes to a sudden wildfire. Last winter, it donated 30 sets of electric mats and blankets to households vulnerable to the cold. The group consistently steps in to help whenever the community faces hardship.
A representative of Yeongtak & Blues Andong Guardians said, \"We hope this small gesture for Family Month becomes a welcome gift that helps our neighbors in their daily lives. We'll keep gathering fans' support and continue giving back.\"
Ok-dong Chief Go Joo-hee expressed deep gratitude to the fan club members for turning their support for singer Yeongtak into warm community giving, saying, \"We will make sure the donated gift certificates reach families in need.\"
