7-Eleven announced on March 15 that it’s launching “long-life” breads that stay fresh for an extended period in collaboration with a well-known Japanese bakery.

In an exclusive collaboration with Pasco—one of Japan’s top 3 bakeries—7-Eleven will introduce 3 new items: Hokkaido Butter Danish, Custard Bread, and Strawberry Jam Bread.

The Hokkaido Butter Danish uses butter from Hokkaido for a rich, buttery flavor. Heat it briefly in the microwave to intensify the taste.

Custard Bread features a soft, pillowy crumb filled with sweet custard cream. Strawberry Jam Bread contains roughly 30% jam for a bright, sweet‑and‑tart kick.

Pasco, a more than 100-year-old Japanese bakery, is known for premium loaves, including its slow‑fermented bread lines.

These long-life breads are made using a natural panettone starter, which ferments slowly to develop deeper flavor. The lactic acid fermentation also slows staling, allowing the breads to stay fresh longer without added preservatives.

While typical convenience-store breads stay fresh for about 7–9 days after production, these products can last up to 68 days.
