With April Fool's Day arriving on April 1, Orion is launching limited-edition versions of some of its classic snacks with playful new packaging. The stunt is clearly aimed at shoppers who buy into fun, novelty-driven treats.

Industry sources said on the 25th that Orion's April Fools' lineup includes an Emoji Edition that replaces the product names for Cham Bungeoppang, Choco Song‑i, and Custard with emojis, plus two cheeky variants renamed \"Open Your Eyes\" and \"Kind Potato Chips.\"

Those two new names are twists on Orion favorites: they rework \"Close Your Eyes\" (a punny potato snack) and \"Stoic Potato Chips\" into their opposites — swapping \"close\" for \"open\" and \"stoic\" for \"kind\" as a playful April Fool's flip.

The packaging mirrors the wordplay. The potato mascot on \"Open Your Eyes\" sports sparkling, wide-open eyes, while the character on \"Kind Potato Chips\" swaps an axe for a flower.

For the Emoji Edition, Orion also translated the labels for Choco Song‑i, Cham Bungeoppang, and Custard into emoji combos. Instead of spelling out Choco Song‑i, the package shows a candle, a nose, a musical note and two fingers; Custard is represented by a car, a star and a drum.

The Emoji Edition will be sold online, while \"Open Your Eyes\" and \"Kind Potato Chips\" will be available both online and in stores.

Orion is bringing \"Open Your Eyes\" and \"Kind Potato Chips\" back after their debut last year, and this time the company has widened the distribution channels.

These April Fool's items will be offered in limited quantities for a short period around April 1.

Marketing analysts say the limited-edition push taps into a broader consumer trend toward novelty and playful experiences, designed to capture attention and prompt impulse buys. Last year's \"Open Your Eyes\" and \"Kind Potato Chips\" made waves on social media.

An Orion spokesperson said, \"We launched the limited-edition April Fool's Emoji Edition to match the trend of treating April Fool's Day like play. We also expanded this year's sales channels for 'Open Your Eyes' and 'Kind Potato Chips,' which we first introduced as limited editions last year.\"
