Spring is officially on the menu — the region’s signature food festival, alive with the scents of the season, has opened. The 2026 Yeonduhyang Festival kicked off on the 18th with an opening ceremony at the Dogye Market Performance Hall and launches a lively three-day program.
Locals and visitors turned out in droves for the festival’s showstopper: a giant durup bibimbap performance. Using fresh durup — a tender spring green also known as aralia shoots — organizers assembled a massive bibimbap that turned into a colorful, crowd-pleasing spectacle. A tasting session that followed let attendees sample the seasonal flavors up close.
Running from the 17th through the 19th, the 2026 Yeonduhyang Festival spotlights local specialties and serves up hands-on experiences, live performances, and plenty of things to see and taste.
“We expect the Yeonduhyang Festival to showcase the excellence of our local agricultural products and to help boost the regional economy,” a local official said. “We hope many visitors come to savor the spirit of spring.”
