[EPN Enpinaw reporter Go Nari] Actress Song Ji-hyo has come under fire over reduced screen time on SBS's Running Man, prompting renewed speculation that she may be stepping away from the long-running variety show.

On March 8, SBS aired a special episode of Running Man titled "Run & Fun Company: Spin the Roulette." Song Ji-hyo appeared on screen for roughly 10 seconds, mostly in reaction shots and group scenes.

Viewers took to the show's official channels and online forums to criticize the appearance, saying she didn’t seem engaged and warning that such brief screen time could fuel more exit rumors. Several fans also complained that her audio was barely audible, expressing disappointment with the episode.

Others defended Song, citing health concerns and arguing she may need time to manage her condition. "You can't expect stars to be at their best every time — health comes first," some viewers wrote.

This is not the first time she has faced criticism over her presence on the show. In 2023, similar complaints surfaced, and Running Man host Yoo Jae-suk defended her on the web variety series Pinggego, praising her efforts and acknowledging that she found some episodes difficult. He encouraged the cast to support her and vowed they would work harder together.

In 2024, Song told the YouTube channel Jo Dongari that she hadn't expected to be on variety television for so long, revealing she is now in her 14th year on Running Man. She added candidly that she has grown close to the members and wants to stay with them until the end.
