Comedian Park Mi-sun expressed gratitude as she celebrated her 59th birthday.
On the 10th, Park posted a lengthy message and photos to her social media, writing, "I used to think a birthday was just another day that comes every year."
She said that after her illness she feels grateful to see birthday candles again and to receive well wishes from those around her. "I prayed in thanks for being able to spend this birthday in good health," she added, "believing that nothing in this world is guaranteed."

She added that she is thankful to be healthier this year than last. "I don't know how many more cakes I'll get to see, but I plan to live each day grateful for the time I'm given," she wrote.
In the released photos, Park beams in front of a pink cake, surrounded by roses in a quietly elegant setting.
Last February, Park announced an early-stage breast cancer diagnosis and temporarily stepped back from her activities to undergo treatment. She later revealed that she shaved her head three times during chemotherapy.
Park met fellow comedian Lee Bong-won through the comedy circuit and the two married in 1993. They have a son and a daughter. Since completing treatment, she has been sharing intimate family moments to update fans on her recovery.
