By Heo Na-won | SPOTV News — As South Korea’s national team reached the World Baseball Classic quarterfinals for the first time in 17 years, a 19-year-old clip from the variety show Infinite Challenge — which mentions Moon Bo-kyung — has resurfaced and drawn attention.
On the 10th, posts began circulating across several online communities under the headline “Infinite Challenge’s shout-out to Moon Bo-kyung 19 years ago.”
The clip comes from a July 2007 episode of Infinite Challenge. Yoo Jae-suk, Park Myung-soo, Jung Joon-ha, Jung Hyung-don, Noh Hong-chul and HaHa appeared on singer Sung Si-kyung’s radio program Blue Night, This Is Sung Si-kyung to introduce songs requested by listeners.
In the segment, Jung Hyung-don mistakenly referred to a requested song as “Moon Bo-kyung’s Mot,” and DJ Sung Si-kyung corrected him, saying the track had been requested by Ms. Moon Bo-kyung.
The cast remained confused, and Yoo Jae-suk tried to smooth things over with a joking remark — “a song Moon Bo-kyung can’t sing” — before Sung clarified the mix-up: the artist is Mot (못) and the song is “Close,” prompting laughter in the studio.

The clip resurfaced after Moon Bo-kyung’s standout performance in South Korea’s final Group C match against Australia at the 2026 World Baseball Classic on the 9th. Online commenters marveled at the throwback, noting that Infinite Challenge seems to have a bit of everything.
Having advanced to the quarterfinals, Team South Korea will travel to Miami, Florida, to face the winner of Group D in a pre-quarterfinal game scheduled for 7:30 a.m. KST on the 14th.
