[EPN NPNOW reporter Go Nari] Kim Yeon-koung once again displayed her trademark candor. In a Bbibidi Babidibu clip uploaded on March 10, Kim spoke openly about Bu Seung-kwan.

Kim appeared as a guest on the episode, and the pair’s quirky chemistry quickly stood out. They previously collaborated on MBC’s variety series Rookie Director Kim Yeon-koung, where Kim served as director and Bu as her manager.

In the video, when Bu Seung-kwan remarked, “You didn’t like me much at first,” Kim deadpanned, “That wasn’t only at the beginning — I almost disliked you until the end,” prompting laughter across the set. She praised Bu’s sunny, outgoing manner but admitted that, at times, his idol-polished demeanor felt a bit performative.

She said working on the show revealed the real, human side of Bu Seung-kwan and described how her fondness for him grew over the course of filming. Kim also explained why she’d been guarded at first.

The mood lightened when Bu revealed he’d been a Red Sparks fan for 20 years. Even though his team is a rival to Kim’s, she expressed appreciation for his genuine love of volleyball.

Bu also recalled the season finale between the Wonder Dogs and the Pink Spiders, saying that during warm-ups Kim told him “good” and even winked — a small gesture that felt especially meaningful to him.
