Actor Ahn Bo-hyun lit up the pink carpet at the Cannes International Series Festival. Ahn attended the 9th Cannes International Series Festival on the 24th (local time) in the southern French city of Cannes, drawing intense attention from the global press and fans.
The festival, organized by the Cannes Film Festival, spotlights outstanding drama and series content worldwide for both commercial success and artistic merit. Ahn traveled to Cannes as the lead of JTBC’s new series The Divine Orb, which was invited to the noncompetitive Rendez-Vous section.
At the photocall that opened the festival’s official schedule, Ahn posed against Cannes’s blue coastline as photographers snapped pictures. At the Palais des Festivals, he discussed the series during the official screening, delivered a stage greeting and took part in a Q&A, engaging directly with international viewers.
His agency said the sustained ovation that filled the theater immediately after the screening proved Ahn’s performance transcended language barriers and captivated the local audience.
He stood out even more at the festival’s highlight, the pink carpet. Dressed in a classic black tuxedo, Ahn greeted fans and reporters with an easy smile and warm waves. Reporters said many fans lining the streets of Cannes chanted his name and welcomed him in Korean.
After completing his Cannes schedule, Ahn plans to focus on filming SBS’s new Friday–Saturday drama Chaebol X Detective 2. Following this year’s Spring Fever, he’s set to continue a busy run across genres with Chaebol X Detective 2 and The Divine Orb. The Divine Orb is scheduled to air in the second half of the year.
