The Korea Esports Association (the Association) is accepting applications from schools for an esports education program through May 1.

The program is designed to help schools use esports for both instruction and recreation. It launched in 2025 after the Association responded to feedback that teachers running school esports clubs face limits in developing specialized expertise. After a pilot at 19 schools last year that confirmed demand and strong on-the-ground interest, the Association is continuing the initiative this year with a practical curriculum and professional instructors.

Instruction totals 20 class hours (2 hours × 10 sessions) and will focus on League of Legends and Valorant.

The program offers two tracks tailored to schools' needs:

▲Professional Track: Performance-focused training for students who aim to compete in school leagues and other tournaments, with pathways to identify promising players

▲Recreational Track: Focused on esports literacy and promoting esports as a healthy hobby

The curriculum includes esports fundamentals, drills to sharpen in-game awareness, and game-specific practical training, delivered as a hands-on program schools can use immediately.

In this year's selection process, the Association will prioritize schools that have dedicated on-campus esports facilities or that are connected to Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism–designated esports venues and therefore have ready practice environments. By placing professional instructors first at sites with established training facilities, the Association aims to raise instruction quality and encourage schools to build esports infrastructure.

Eligible applicants are middle and high schools nationwide that operate or plan to establish an esports club; applications must be submitted at the school level. A faculty sponsor should submit the application form through the program website.

The Association said it expects the program to promote a healthy gaming culture among students and broaden how schools integrate esports into education and extracurricular life.
