(The CEN News / Reporter Ahn Seoyeon) A new nationwide fashion survival series aiming to crown South Korea's best-dressed is gearing up for a 2026 premiere.
Disney+ announced it will launch the nationwide fashion survival series Style Wars in 2026 to name South Korea's best-dressed. The global streaming platform says the show will pair sharp storytelling with bold, fashion-forward content to give viewers a fresh, stylish take on competition TV.
Style Wars brings together 72 fashion-forward contestants who will compete on style alone — leaving age, profession, experience and fame at the door. With titles stripped away, the series highlights each participant's sense of style and individuality through a distinctive competition format.
The show uses an open, nationwide-survival format that anyone who loves fashion can enter. Contestants include designers, stylists and models, as well as fashion influencers, neighborhood style icons and college trendsetters. From teenage fashion hopefuls to stylish contenders in their 70s, 72 participants — each with their own personality and look — will go head-to-head in style challenges, and the final contestant who demonstrates the strongest fashion instincts will take the crown.
Actor Hyeri will host the series. A chameleon when it comes to fashion, Hyeri will guide contestants through the competition as MC. The judging panel includes model-turned-broadcaster Hong Jin-kyung; Jung Wook-jun, creative director of global designer brand JUUN.J; model-turned-actor Bae Jung-nam; and fashion stylist and creator Choi Siljang, who will evaluate the contestants' style and individuality.
The production team is also drawing attention. The company behind the hit reality series Single's Inferno is involved, and writers from the variety hit Daehwanjang Kianjang have joined to boost the show's creative finish. Expect bold style showdowns and inventive survival missions that provide new viewing hooks.
The Disney+ original variety series Style Wars is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
