Lotte Department Store’s Centum City branch announced on April 21 that it will host an interactive pop-up called Forest Expedition in the basement event hall through April 30.

The exhibit brings together rare reptiles and insects not often seen by the public—panther chameleons, green basilisks, Argentine tegus and Pac-Man frogs—allowing families to observe them up close and learn about local and global ecosystems. The program is built around storytelling to guide the visitor experience.

Under the theme "Finding the Lost Words," visitors receive a mission-packed instruction sheet and are encouraged to search the exhibit for hidden creatures, learning about each species and its habits as they go.

Beyond passive observation, the pop-up offers expert consultations and hands-on activities. Reptile and insect specialists provide practical care tips for customers considering adopting these animals. Interactive options include insect-collecting experiences, coloring with 3D insect models, and workshops to make keychains and blocks.

Admission is 4,000 KRW (about USD 3.00) per person, and every visitor receives a special gift. Guests who post a verification photo from their visit on social media with the required hashtags can claim one limited-edition item on a first-come, first-served basis.

Seo Young-jip, head of sales support at Lotte Department Store Centum City, said the range of hands-on programs will give families a chance to appreciate the importance of ecosystems within an urban setting. He added that the store will continue to seek ways to offer customers experiences that go beyond shopping.
