[EPN NPNow reporter Go Nari] Jang Young-ran couldn’t hide her disappointment when a luxury bag appraisal came back underwhelming.
On the 4th, the YouTube channel 'A-Grade Jang Young-ran' uploaded a video titled "Do Luxury Bags Lose Value the Moment You Buy Them?"
In the clip, she put one of her designer bags up for appraisal, and viewers were hooked.
She said she’d only used the bag about five times but considers it a prized piece, revealing her husband paid 6,000,000 KRW (approximately $4,500) for it as a gift.
Flaunting its flashy design, she admitted, "After some thought, I brought it in hoping to get a better price."
But the appraiser wasn’t encouraging. "The design is pretty, but limited editions are hard to trade," they explained. "Classic monograms or the Chanel logo are more popular."
They added that while Epi leather pieces are rare, the market tends to favor classic, timeless designs.
During the appraisal, the expert said a similar bag had sold for just 1,400,000 KRW (approximately $1,050).
Jang was stunned. "I guess I should stick to classic pieces," she admitted.
Meanwhile, Jang married Korean medicine doctor Han Chang in 2009. They have two children, and she actively runs a YouTube channel with more than 740,000 subscribers.
