[Sports Seoul | Reporter Pyo Kwon-hyang] SK Telecom has reimagined its T Factory Seongsu brand space in Seoul’s Seongdong District as a customer lounge and announced a new exhibit called the Data Center Series.

The company said rising foot traffic in Seongsu-dong highlighted a growing need for public rest areas. T Factory Seongsu has been redesigned as the T Factory Lounge, a café-style venue that combines exhibitions, seating and hands-on experiences. SK Telecom customers and one guest each can claim a complimentary drink, and the lounge will offer free luggage storage for visitors.

Visitors will also find interactive attractions such as a four-shot photo booth, a make-your-own phone strap workshop, charging stations and other amenities.

To celebrate the lounge’s opening on the 25th, SK Telecom will host an event with chef Yoon Joo-mo, who appeared on the second season of the show Black & White Chef. Participation is open to SK Telecom customers on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Data Center Series transforms SK Telecom’s core data center operations into immersive, customer-facing content. The exhibition interprets the ideas of storage, processing and connectivity as an offline, playful encounter with data.

The first installment, titled "Back to the ___," opened on the 1st and centers on photography as a form of data, recasting the data center as both a memory bank and a time machine.

Inside the exhibit, visitors move through photo studios that evoke specific years — 1986, 1996, 2006 and 2016. Each space captures era-defining memories: a 1980s video rental shop, a 1990s sticker-photo booth, a 2000s digital-camera setup and the smartphone-driven aesthetic of the 2010s. Guests can compile photos taken across the studios into a personalized photo album.

In a basement area, visitors can borrow film cameras, Polaroids and digital cameras to explore Seongsu-dong and nearby Seoul Forest.

“We redesigned the space so visitors to Seongsu-dong can drop in and relax anytime,” said Yoon Jae-woong, head of product and brand at SK Telecom. “We will continue to roll out content that lets customers experience SK Telecom’s value naturally in everyday life.” gioia@sportsseoul.com
