At the 2026 Seoul International Garden Expo, 'SUMMIT Silo' brings SUMMIT's philosophy to life
Circular layout pairs lighting, branded audio and floating decks to create a space for relaxation
Collaboration with international landscape firm 'Grant Associates' — SUMMIT reimagined
[Asia Times=Reporter Ok Han-bin] Daewoo E&C has transplanted the SUMMIT brand philosophy into the heart of Seoul Forest. Rather than relying on traditional advertising, the company used a garden to stake a claim in the luxury market; its presence at the expo doubles as branded space marketing.
On May 4, industry sources said Daewoo E&C unveiled "SUMMIT Silo," a corporate companion garden that embodies the philosophy of its high-end residential brand SUMMIT, at the Seoul International Garden Expo, which opened May 1 at Seoul Forest.
The expo, titled "Seoul, Green Culture: A Garden City Where Nature and Urban Culture Coexist," links Seoul Forest with the Seongsu-dong neighborhood to extend garden culture into urban spaces. Daewoo E&C chose to let visitors experience the SUMMIT image directly through a branded garden on site.
SUMMIT Silo is a portmanteau of "silence" and "silo." The garden takes a circular form at a key junction of Seoul Forest’s main paths, its shape inspired by the park’s circulation. The design aims to reflect the SUMMIT brand idea of that moment of accomplishment at the peak of life, turning the garden itself into a brand statement.
Design quality was a clear priority. The project brought in Grant Associates, Daewoo E&C’s lead landscape designer on major developments. Known for projects like the Supertree Grove at Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay, Grant is skilled at blending nature and structure. Daewoo E&C says the collaboration boosted the garden’s symbolism and polished its design.
The approach goes beyond simple planting. Lighting synchronized with SUMMIT-branded audio animates the space, while raised floating decks create places to walk and linger. Lounges ringed by plantings and shaded resting spots under trees are dotted throughout. Daewoo E&C says the intent was to create an urban lounge where anyone can stop, rest and reflect.
The garden’s public debut is a strategic move to reposition SUMMIT not merely as a housing product but as a sensory lifestyle, amid fierce competition in the high-end market. Crucially, the company translated its brand philosophy into an experiential landscape in a high-traffic landmark like Seoul Forest.
The expo runs in and around Seoul Forest through Oct. 27 and covers 90,000㎡ (about 22.2 acres / 968,751 sq ft) of planted area, featuring 167 gardens — the largest edition to date. Since April 25, the event has been part of a garden-culture relay leading to the 2026 Taean International Horticultural Therapy Expo in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province.
