With local government–sponsored youth meetups such as Solomon's Choice drawing attention, Suwon is rolling out its own effort to encourage casual social connections among young adults.

Suwon City is accepting applications for its youth communication and exchange program, Suwon Youth: Finding Love, through May 22.

The city is looking for 30 unmarried, working residents or employees of companies in Suwon, aged 25 to 34.

The event is scheduled for June 19, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Suwon Yeongheung Arboretum's Neutinamu Hall and the adjacent outdoor garden.

Organizers say the program is intended to promote healthier attitudes toward dating and marriage among young people and to create relaxed settings for new connections.

Activities will begin with icebreakers that use short self-introductions and first-impression keywords, giving participants a chance to get comfortable with one another.

Participants will then take part in a dating-style workshop based on a behavioral type assessment and a group exercise designed to identify common interests. Group game missions scattered through the arboretum will encourage interaction through tasks like locating photo-matched spots and snapping group activity photos.

The schedule also includes youth-focused wellness experiences, such as a perfume-making session. The day will wrap up with a slideshow of group mission photos and recognition of standout participants.

Interested applicants can scan the QR code on promotional materials to complete a Google Form or submit their application by email to the program coordinator. For more information, contact Suwon City's Education, Youth and Adolescents Division.

Cho Young-hee, head of the Youth Policy Team in the Education, Youth and Adolescents Division, said the program was designed so young people can connect without pressure and form new relationships. “We hope many interested young people will take part,” she added.
