Gen.G head coach Yu 'Ryu' Sang‑wook, who guided his team to a win over Nongshim RedForce, said the players battled health issues but still delivered a strong performance.Gen.G defeated Nongshim 2–0 on April 26 at the LCK Arena in Grand Seoul's Jongno district during Week 4 of the LCK. The victory moved Gen.G to 5–3 (+5) on the season, tying them with T1 for third place. Nongshim fell to 4–4 (0) and missed an opportunity to climb the standings.
Coach Yu said, "The players weren't in great condition, so I'm relieved we were able to close it out cleanly. I'm satisfied with how they played today — they had been dealing with colds, but they still performed well."
He added, "Overall, I'm happy with our ban-pick. We emphasized gaining control in the laning phase, and that plan worked out."
On the decision to pick top Twisted Fate in Game 2, Yu explained, "When Fearless removed certain champions, tier dynamics shifted. After they locked in Gnar, we discussed options with the players and Twisted Fate came up naturally. The players know the fine details, so they felt comfortable making that choice."
Kiin (Kim Gi‑in) extended his Twisted Fate record to 8–0 with the win. Yu praised Kiin's play: "As a ranged champion, Twisted Fate carries risk, but Kiin manages that risk better than most. He balances risk control with applied pressure, and that gives him a lot of advantages."
Reflecting on the first round, Yu said, "We realized there were small details we weren't doing consistently. We worked hard to correct those areas, and the team has climbed up from a low point."
He concluded, "We're going to focus on tightening our execution so we can eliminate the issues that showed up in the first round. Our goal is to show a more complete, near‑perfect performance."
