Police in Busan’s Haeundae District launched an investigation after a cleaning worker found a woman in her 30s dead beneath a covered structure in U-dong.
Haeundae Police Station said that at about 9:30 a.m. on the 23rd a cleaning worker called 112 (Korea’s emergency number) to report what appeared to be a body beneath the structure.
Responding officers confirmed the victim was a woman in her 30s, identified only as A.
Police say they have found no signs of forced entry or other evidence suggesting foul play so far. Given the nature of the location, however, investigators say a simple accident appears unlikely and are probing the exact cause of death.
\"We have not identified any indications of homicide, but we are pursuing multiple lines of inquiry to determine the precise cause of death,\" a police official said.
