[By Goh Nari, EPN NP Now] Goo Seong-hwan's cross-country trek took a dramatic turn when an unexpected health scare forced him to make an emergency stop at a nearby 119 fire station.

In the April 17 broadcast of MBC's I Live Alone, viewers saw Goo on the final day of his journey from Seoul to Busan—a grueling route of about 446 km (roughly 277 miles).

Having recently dropped 12 kg (about 26.5 lb), he told viewers, \"I failed twice before, but this time I started with the mindset that it would be my last attempt.\"

On the final stretch, while pushing through a punishing march, he suddenly suffered sharp abdominal pain. As it intensified while he walked, he admitted, \"Anyone who's done this trek knows this kind of pain,\" and added, \"It's hard to find a restroom.\"

As the situation grew more urgent he confessed, \"I didn't expect it to get this bad,\" clearly in pain. Code Kunst, watching nearby, lightened the moment with, \"Your gait even changed.\"

They rushed to a nearby 119 fire station for emergency help, and afterward he relaxed, calling the responders \"lifesavers.\"

Back on the trail he reflected, \"It's the little things that can bring enormous happiness.\" Even as his blood sugar dipped, he pushed himself to reach his goal.

He said the challenge was a special way to heal after parting with Kkotbuni, and his refusal to give up through the final leg of the 16-night, 17-day trek earned viewers' support.
