Bayern settled for a 3-3 draw with Heidenheim on May 2 at the Allianz Arena in Munich in Matchday 32 of the 2025-26 Bundesliga season. Kim Min-jae started and played the full match.
Despite having already clinched the Bundesliga title, Bayern struggled against bottom-placed Heidenheim. The visitors struck twice in the first half, and Bayern fell behind on two occasions. A stoppage-time equalizer rescued a point, but Bayern have now surrendered 11 goals across their last three matches, conceding at least three in each outing.
Heidenheim opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when Jibjibaje converted after teammate Bushu played the ball into the box, finishing with a left-footed shot. They doubled their lead in the 31st minute as Dinkchi attacked the space behind Bayern’s defense and slotted a right-footed finish off a pass from Bushu.
Bayern mounted a late first-half response. In the 43rd minute, Leon Goretzka stepped up to take a free kick from the left edge of the penalty area and struck a right-footed shot to pull one back.
Trailing at the break, Bayern drew level in the 57th minute when Goretzka scored again. He met Olise’s corner with a right-footed finish to beat the Heidenheim goalkeeper.Heidenheim regained the lead in the 75th minute as Jibjibaje completed his brace. He won a duel with Olise, drove forward on a solo run through Bayern’s half and finished from the left side of the penalty area with a right-footed shot.
Bayern kept the pressure on and produced a dramatic equalizer in stoppage time. Olise’s left-footed strike from the left edge of the box hit the post, ricocheted off the Heidenheim goalkeeper’s back and crossed the line, leaving the teams level at the final whistle.
Local outlets including Germany’s SPOX warned Bayern have exposed serious defensive problems and urged coach Kompany to act. SPOX said Bayern’s frailties were on show against Heidenheim and warned the side could suffer in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against PSG. The outlet noted that Bayern fought to avoid defeat and that Olise’s stoppage-time strike bizarrely deflected off the opposing goalkeeper to count — an outcome that likely offered some relief ahead of the PSG tie.
SPOX added that Bayern are showing troubling signs at a critical stage of the season. Their heavy concession against PSG highlighted the visitors’ attacking quality — Dembélé and Kvaratskhelia, who both scored against Bayern, are world-class forwards — but SPOX also pointed out that teams like Heidenheim and Mainz have been able to exploit Bayern’s defensive vulnerabilities even without superstar attackers.
